Is it cold in NY in October?

Just wondering what the weather is like in New York in early October. What should I wear and what should I take in my carry on. :rolleyes:

It is very difficult to say what the weather will be like early October in the Northeast! It is spring/April almost May right now and the temps have been in the 40's and very rainy:(. It is usually cool (low 50's) in the evenings, nights, and early morning almost always in the fall, but the day time weather can vary from high 40's to the 70's, depending upon the weather pattern for the week. I would definitely say pants and a light jacket. You can always check online for the week's weather in advance before you arrive to get an idea of what your weather will be like.
