Viking River Cruises - Russia - Any Experiences?

We are taking two Viking Cruises Odessa-Kiev late September and Moscow-St Petersburg in October. We would like to have tips from previous travellers, about Viking shore excursions in Moscow and St Petersburg and about where the ships berth in these two cities - how far from city centre. We have been told that the St Petersburg berth in 2008 is "Salt Pier" (as of 5/31 from Viking Boat Stn) Oktiabrskaya Nabareshnaya 29, 193079 St. Petersburg, 30km from the airport.

Mocscow berth is at Moscow Northern River Boat Station 51, Leningradskoye shosse Khimki, Moscow, 28 km from the airport.

Neither of these addresses help me find out how far from and accessible to the city centre.
