Steaks, love Taste of Texas they are off I 10 almost where it meets 8/Sam Houston Tollway.

I am not much into mexican food, but Pappasitos is just down the street from TofT, but they are also all over since it is a chain.

In the immediate Galleria area... hmm have to do some digging. If I go there, it is usally to go into the mall and I eat in there at the food court. Lots of places there.

I hope this doesn't sound too snobby but there really isn't any bad Mexican food in Houston. Picking something at random will work. Hole in the wall places with people who speak poor English will be more authentic.
