New Jersey Cruise Port -- taxi or transfer

When we return from our cruise, we need to get to the Newark Airport for a 12:10 flight. Should we take a taxi or use a cruise transfer? I know it is a busy port.

Book something in advance. It's a totally disorganized port with lots of people yelling like they are in charge and nobody really getting anything done. We waited for a long time for a cab and gave up and got on a shuttle bus where they allowed us to pay cash.

It's one of the few ports where you may actually be better off with a transfer.

Thank you both for your responses. I had heard that it was a crazy port too. I guess I should plan to book transfers from the cruise line. However, I'm not awfully excited about the buses, but I'll deal.
