Amsterdam private tours

Recommended Posts

We will be in Amsterdam this fall and I think I would like to book a private tour. I did a search on C.C. but it didn't bring me any results.

If anyone has names of private tour companies that you enjoyed could you please post them?

Thank you in advance!

We used Senior Holland Travel (email him at w.diggelen@quicknet.nl). Wynand was a remarkable guide and the price $199 euro include admissions and a bit to eat each day. He felt so much like family that we included him in the picture on canal boat in Amsterdam. We had 2 days with him and he introduced us to the tulip fields, including the mural, Lisse with the canal ride through the lake and a great sausage roll from Den Butter Baker (mmmmm). The next day was Amsterdam (with a canal cruise, frites & the red light district), Zaanse Schans for the Wooden shoe demonstration and tons of gifts for the family back home and the most wonderful Farmers Pancake (Who knew these even existed) and, finally to Edam for a walk around tour and cheese, of course. He listened to what we wanted to see and tailored the tour based on what we said. We have already given his card to our friends who will be in Amsterdam in September because we felt he gave us the most anyone could wish to see in 2 days time. Don't let "Senior" Holland travel throw you off if you are younger. He is able to accomodate people who are not as mobile as others and he will not have you doing too much in a day if you are not capable. He really tailors the tour on what you can and want to do. We are Ken & Brenda and will be glad to answer any questions you have.

Thanks for your recommendation re: Senior Holland Travel!

Based upon your review, as well as that of an earlier poster, "mktmzm," contacted Wynand today and have booked him for June 2008. He was prompt to reply, and both thorough and thoughtful. He remembered you.

So very excited now for the pre-cruise portion of Prinsendam June '08 cruise.

It was very kind of you to take the time to share your experience.

We used Kris from Holland stopovers and can tell you he also went out of his way to make sure we did everthing we wanted, he even called a cheese farm to ask them to say open for us on a last minute arranged tour which was not part of our plans. Out of all our tur guides whiche we had he was by far the most accomodating and helpful
