vacacountdown Posted April 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2007 At what point do you receive on board credits? There's nothing in my cruise documents so how do I know that I am guaranteed the credit once I get to the ship? I'm speaking specifically about the promotional credits they give you when you make your reservations. Thanks!
PDAZ Posted April 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2007 I actually thought it was noted somewhere on the cruise docs, but I can't find mine to verify this. On the Pride of Aloha, we received a card acknowledging the onboard credit with the dailies and other papers that they leave in the evening -- I think we received it the first night. I'd call your TA or PCC to confirm -- some others on this forum have had issues getting their credits!
POOHISME2 Posted April 24, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2007 If it's not on your Docs or on your Invoice, Call and get written proof before you board. It's easier to handle the front desk if you have the proof you had it.
lvtotrvl1 Posted April 24, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2007 I agree with Pooh..call your TA and get somethiong in writing...NCL does not note the credits on your docs.. As an agent I have had two times where the clients have had OBC and upon boarding were told they didn't. All was taken care of with a few phone calls, but I felt bad that my clients even had to deal with this on vacation. Now I note on my invoice to them the amount of OBC so they have proof upon boarding. Haven't had a problem with it since I've started to do this. PDAZ Posted April 24, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2007 I agree with Pooh..call your TA and get somethiong in writing...NCL does not note the credits on your docs.. Found the cruise docs! Lvtotrvl was right -- it's not on there. We were lucky and had no problem with getting it onboard, but why risk it -- get the proof beforehand! nlrisgood Posted April 24, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 24, 2007 I am on the POA for May 5th and have received my docs. My invoice shows " On-Board Credit Included " Does anyone know what that means? Thanks.
cruizen53 Posted April 24, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 24, 2007 I had same question, Called TA. this morning she checked on her computer with NCL and told me it was posted to my cabin. Hope she is right. KEN
Rare CruisinCrow Posted April 24, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 24, 2007 My confirmation e-mail said the same thing ("on-board credit included"). It didn't specify an amount but I printed it out and brought it with me anyway, just in case. We didn't have any problems. When we first got to the cabin, there was a card on the bed showing the amount of the credit. We just had to sign the card and leave it for the room steward. The amount of the credit was subtracted from our statement at the end of the cruise.
OceanDreaming2 Posted April 24, 2007 #9 Share Posted April 24, 2007 We're supposed to have OBC on our upcoming Pearl cruise to Alaska. Our TA is on the same cruise, so if we have problems - we'll be knocking on her door!
lvz2cruz Posted April 25, 2007 #10 Share Posted April 25, 2007 Is this the cruiseline that does not allow the OBC to be applied to tips or casino cash?

Cosmopolitan Posted April 25, 2007 #13 Share Posted April 25, 2007 I had same question, Called TA. this morning she checked on her computer with NCL and told me it was posted to my cabin. Hope she is right. KEN Just don't wait until the "last" evening on-board to check your bill - there will be long lines. Check mid-cruise and make sure your OBC is applied to your bill;)
Lake House Posted April 25, 2007 #14 Share Posted April 25, 2007 Our TA included this line in our printed itinerary: "You have a $100 shipboard credit. This cannot be used in the casino or for gratuities." Ann
cruiser12 Posted April 25, 2007 #15 Share Posted April 25, 2007 Our OBC was stated on our invoice. As soon as it was confirmed out T.A. sent us an invoice- You have $150. in OBC. Just in case, I did bring the invoice with me on our sailing.
TakeMeAway! Posted April 29, 2007 #16 Share Posted April 29, 2007 In regards to OBC, is it issued per person or per cabin? My TA told me that we have a $75 credit, I thought that it would be $150...$75 each for my DH and myself.....Does anyone know how this usually works? DaisyL Posted April 29, 2007 #17 Share Posted April 29, 2007 Per cabin... One cruise for us it was $125 OBC (per cabin) and on the 'bill' it was $62.50 per person.
