jresmith Posted April 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2007 We are thinking about a long cruise starting in Ft. Lauderdale and ending with a back to back in the Med in 2009. We are trying to determine what the weather will be like at the beginning of April vs the beginning of May. Does anyone have any thoughts about what we can look forward to at these times. I read somewhere that these months can be quite foggy, especially in Greece and Italy. Is that true? Recommendations please! ehogan Posted April 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2007 With climate change, who really knows? We just returned (mid March) from Italy, Greece and Turkey on the Carnival Freedom and the weather ranged from pleasantly warm (Rome, Turkey) to cold and rainy (Greece, Florence). All the tour guides said that the weather this year has been very unusual and unpredictable. We were in Rome in mid May, 2005 and the temps were in the high 80 degrees. You can check out averages and temp. details for each city at www.weather.com If you have a choice, I would suggest April
CruisinGerman Posted April 24, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2007 Here in Barcelona, we had torrential rains and cold temperatures every day during Holy Week this year (April 1 - 9). Three weeks earlier (mid-March) it was hot and sunny enough to go to the beach. This past weekend (April 20-22) it was glorious (hot and sunny). Now as we are approaching the long May-day holiday weekend, they say the rains are going to return. Hope this information helps.
