cantwait2cruize Posted April 26, 2007 #51 Share Posted April 26, 2007
Want to help me pay my onboard expenses:D . Just got off the Dawn for 11 days. Between 6 of us my onboard account was over $5,000:eek: . A good chunk of that was my 17 yo HAD to be in constant contact with the stupid girlfriend. I couldn't believe it when I saw that internet bill. I can't wait to get the cell phone bill. I caught him text messaging her during a show:mad:
Should have brought the stupid girlfriend with you. It would have been cheaper:D
gmasters Posted April 29, 2007 #52 Share Posted April 29, 2007
My 14 and 16 year old had their cards blocked so they couldn't spend. They also didn't have cell phones, they each got a teen passport which gives then 20 slush or smoothie drinks and a bit of money to spend in ports. I did not pay for any internet - we usually find an internet cafe in one port to check e-mails. I guess I'm just cheap.
no you are not cheap just smarter, and look at $$ they way it should
gmasters Posted April 29, 2007 #53 Share Posted April 29, 2007 lets see, we leave our cell phones at home or atleast turned off locked in the safe, we did call our son from our first port call last year in alaska last year. He didnt even know we had taken a cruise again. (he lives in Alaska) and yes we take our laptop on all our trips, cruising or hotels, but we would never spend money for internet. Or a damn phone call, We cruised in a party of 10 in feb ( all Adults in the family and I dont remember any of them saying they needed to call, home, work, I guess we live the rest of the year with the phone connected to our heads I dont see why people dont remember the days when vacation was vacation
Wormy53 Posted April 29, 2007 #54 Share Posted April 29, 2007 Granted you had an inexpensive vacation - but that would not have worked for us. I can't imagine having a nice dinner without wine (I'm in the "why bother" category!). I often select what I will eat that evening depending on what I would prefer to drink - "red or white". And what about the espresso in the morning?? The casino always gets a few dollars - and the spa and excursion desk (sometimes). I guess that's what makes cruising such a good value. There are a lot of different individual tastes that can be accommodated. It makes the world go 'round!!
Sea Hag Posted April 29, 2007 #55 Share Posted April 29, 2007 I'm pretty sure we've come back more than once with no onboard charges, other than tips. And other times, with under $20.
