Dubrovnik Beaches

Any suggestions for beaches on this stop? I have seen several photos, but very little info on names of beaches and the best mode of transportation. Also, are the beaches public?

Banje Beach is the closest beach to the Old Town which makes it the most convenient beach and the beach with the best view of Dubrovnik's walls. It's a "managed beach" which means that you can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas from the nearby EastWest Club but you can throw a beach towel on the gravel.

We swam at that beach last October. The views of the Old City Walls and your ship sitting in front of you are wonderful. The gravel is comfortable (I was surprised) and the water is super clear.

Our ship tendered into the old city and it was an easy walk to the beach.

The water is so super clear that we could see nude bathers while walking the city walls.......so beware if tempted to skinny dip!;)
