I came across this 1971 fad while doing research for my black tie web site. (Just goes to show that GQ doesn't always understand the difference between style and fashion.)

 

Argh! Not sure which touch is more darling, the flowered polyester shirt or the crushed velvet bow tie. I wonder if it comes already tied?

Did I meet you at a Dance at the County Hospital Social Club, late sixties early seventies? I remember dancing with a man in an outfit similar to photo.
