How private are the balconies on the VOS?

Recommended Posts

I read on one of the threads here that someone was tired of hearing their neighbors in the cabin next to them discuss the sunrise every morning in loud enough voices that they were awaken by them every morning. By the third day he walked out on his balcony only in his under shorts with camera in hand and his neighbors got the message. Don't the balcony have solid doors between the cabins that can be open only if requested? Now I'm really worried because we booked a Grand Suite and I am wondering that my "private balcony" isn't private after all. We have a connecting room and not by choice; we are traveling with a very large group and since we were originally on a waiting list to get a Grand Suite and I really do not want to give it up because the connecting staterooms do not have a completely private balcony.

Any answers out there?

No balconies that I have been on are totatlly private. Yes, there are dividers, but still you can hear things from the next balcony. On those I have been on, ie, Mariner, the next door neighbor can look around the end of his/her balcony and see what's going on in your balcony.

I certainly wouldn't do anything that the world couldn't see. Now, I say that, I go out there in a nightgown or bathrobe and I sure in heck don't want anyone to see me like that. If you want to do something intimate, I wouldn't suggest your balcony, but hey, if you do, hope that your next door neighbors won't be out there then. If they hear something, who knows if their eyes might be prying around the corner?

It doesn't make any difference if the room is connecting or not. The balconies are all the same. It's INSIDE that you can hear things in a connecting room. Enjoy your cruise.

i was in 1532 balcony room on VOS in 2005 when it was in NJ and i never saw neighbors on either side but could hear them a few times but not enough to ever annoy me, and we spent a LOT of time on the balcony and sometimes naked while no land in sight (sorry if this is offensive)! i couldnt even imagine the safety risks of trying to peak around to the next balcony!
