Tampa sheraton riverwalk or embassy suites downtown?

We are trying to decide between these two hotels. We have stayed at Rverwalk in the past, but it has been getting aweful reviews lately. How close is Embassy Suites to Channelside? Can you walk there? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Embassy Suites are right down the street from Channelside. There is a trolley stop right behind the hotel that will take you to Channelside. I am not sure of the cost. You could walk but I do not recommend it at night. Embassy Suites are a new hotel and nearer to Channelside and the port than the Riverwalk.
