kiraryker Posted May 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2007 I noticed this was a stop on our Southern Caribbean cruise - any ideas on things to do?
dot73 Posted July 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2008 I will be on Princess with that stop. They are showing no excursions yet. It sounds like this is a brand new stop.

kiraryker Posted August 12, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted August 12, 2008 We were there in January - Carnival - we took a bus to the main town square where they had an open market - bad choice - the locals just harassed us to the point of being scary and it was horrible - glad we didn't have our kids along they would've been frightened. We couldn't find our bus back so we walked along the street and found 2 bank guards with guns standing outside the bank - they didn't speak english so they were of no help - then a local came up to us and told us he knew where the Carnival bus was to take us back to the ship - well after many "stops" at local shops along the way - which they must pay him to bring in tourists - wasn't so bad - we shopped and found many local hand made beautiful plates & canvas paintings - finally after making our purchases he took us to the bus which held some families with small children that told us just what we thought - the kids were frightened. So I guess I would avoid the open market if you have children - but take a look at the shops on the side streets - beautiful hand made items.
