Sliding sky dome on Spirit class ships

My DH and I are on the May 14th sailing of the Carnival Spirit, Alaska itinerary. I can see by the deck plans there is a sliding sky dome above the main pool deck.

 

Those of you who have done the Alaska itinerary in May...

If the weather is cool, which I'm sure it will be, is the sky dome kept closed during the sailiing to keep the pool deck climate controlled???

It was when I did the trip five years ago--we were on sailing that left around the 22 or 23 of May. You will love this trip--wish I was going with you!:o

From the Google Earth Site you can see the Spirit at the dock in Ketchikan. Sky dome looks closed in that picture. (I would assume that the pictures were taken probably last year.)

I did Alaska last May and it was wounderful. Laid out tanning and even burned on day in port.

During my 14 days on Spirit in Alaska the dome was closed the entire time. And, open the entire time when I cruised Spirit in Caribbean and Panama Canal.
