Houston to Galveston for Conquest

Anyone know the easiest way to get to the cruise ship pier in Galveston from IAH?

From IAH

 

59 south until you reach the Tollway (3 miles) go east on the tollway stay on it until you reach I45 south take I45 south until hit Galveston......

From IAH it will be about a 1.25 hour drive if traffic is light. The tollway (beltway 8) is the quickest around downtown to get onto I-45 south. I am not sure of what shuttle services are available. A private limo would be cheaper than a taxi.
