Where in Tampa?

For a pre-cruise stay would you choose the downtown or the westshore location when bidding on priceline?

Convenience from airport and to the ship, getting around, restaurants etc. are criteria.

I'm looking at 3 stars but haven't had much luck downtown. My dates (December) might be bad or maybe I bid too low. ($65).

My fear is if I bid westshore I could be sent to the boondocks.

I probably wouldn't do the Westshore area for pre-cruise. All depends on if you have a car or not. If you stay downtown there are more things within walking distance. Westshore area you will probably be by the mall and things are more of a driving distance. I'm trying to remember the hotels right by the port - Sheraton and Marriott I think are the nicer ones - search them online before doing priceline so you know what you're looking for and the prices to expect on like expedia or something.
