What to do by car on turnaround day in Whittier

Hi all,

My husband and I are cruising b2b in July and have the whole turnaround day in Whittier to play with. He refuses to do any form of boat tour so I am thinking we'll rent a car. Any suggestion on what to do while there? Thanks in advance for the help :)

Get out of Whittier..Do be aware of tunnel timing so you don't find yourself missing the boat trying to get back. Open 15 mins every hour on the half hour to get to Whittier...example 3:30,4:30 $12 per vehicle to get in, no fee out. http://www.dot.state.ak.us/creg/whittiertunnel/index.shtml
