Has anyone done Lock Lomond Pedal & Paddle?

Recommended Posts

RoyalC, and I'm sure others, offer an excursion at Greenock/Glasgow called:

Pedal & Paddle, The Lock Lomond Experience

I'm trying to figure out how strenuous the 1-hour bike portion is:

i.e. is it flat or a lot of hills?

If it is like riding a tow-path along a canal, it will be flat/easy/leisurely, but if it is hilly, it will be more stenuous.

My father is thinking of going and he is nearly 70, plus I've just found out that I'm pregnant so I'm being told to get an idea of how stenuous/hilly it is. Any help is appreciated.

I haven't found much to enlighten me online:

clearly the bike trails are popular,

and Balloch castle is one of the places that you see along the way

Hi There,

As I stay close to Loch Lomond will try and help,

Most of the cycling around the Loch is on flat to very gentle paths, if you go inland then there are hills, if tour is around Loch should be fine, most paddle trips are along shore line do not go out into Loch as such, again there are the two seater peddle things you get on beechs.

If you need any help with things to do or places to see just ask.

yours Shogun

The tour will probably be around the southern banks of Loch Lomond where the area is rather flat indeed. It will be easy biking and still you will enjoy breathtaking scenery - with mountains in the background.

Usually the tour programs have very detailed descriptions how strenous they are - if they are strenous you will be warned very clearly.

I assume it will be a rather relaxing tour.

On the southwestern shore of Loch Lomond you will find Cameron House, a castle which has been turned into a hotel. The park is open to the public and offers good views. You may also visit the hotel's historical rooms (library etc.) which have been turned into the bar and have a drink there!
