VIP Disembark question

I am told by Carnival that since we're in a Cat 11, we have priority embark & dis-embark priviledges. What I was wondering is... When dis-embarking, can you 'stay' on the ship as long as you want or do you 'have' to leave when they dismiss you. This is our first time on Carnival and our flight doesnt leave till 2:15. I was wondering if we could just hang out on the ship for as long as possible instead of the airport. What do you think?

Suite passangers only have Priority embarkation. Since you don't say which ship or port, it would be difficult to say what would be the best time to leave.

My mom and I were in a Cat 12 on Ecstasy back in late October and we only priority embarking, not disembarking. Maybe they have changed it or it is only on some ships, I'm not sure...

oh sorry. We're on the Liberty this coming Saturday out of FLL.

Does that help?

Put your luggage out the night before and take your time. You will probably have to be off the ship between 10 and 10:30.

(If you had said Conquest, I would have said get off the ship ASAP, so yeah it does help ;))

In the past......when colors are called for debarkation....suites are usually at the top of the list. If you are flying out of FLL, airport is very close so I would stay on ship until they start asking you to leave. With most people already having claimed their luggage....yours should be easy to find & a whole lot less crowded.

Great. Thanks for all your help. I'd much rather sit around on the ship than an airport anyday and yeah, it should be much easier to find our luggage:)

Don, just curious. Why would you say that about the Conquest? Is that a ship I should avoid in the future?

It's priority embarkation not debarkation. And I have to say that "suites are NOT at the top of the list"

From what I experienced it was color coded based on the time your flight is leaving. If I have a late flight, I have a later color code.

The VIP for disembarkation is in regards to where your luggage will be inside the terminal, there is a seperate area for VIP luggage so it is not co-mingled with all the other colored tags. As for leaving the ship, I've been told on every cruise that the ship has to be cleared of all debarking passengers by 10:00 so it can be cleared to start getting ready for embarking the new passengers. When we did a Back-to-Back, we had to be in the lobby by 10:00 and once the ship was announced as being cleared of all out-bound passengers, then we were escorted out to ICE personnel, you checked our passports and checked us off a list, then we were escorted back onto the ship (no embarkation photo for the second sailing .......... bummer).

You can stay on until they kick you off:D When I have had late flight, I take my time eating, than go to cabin until the call all colors. If a larger ship I wait else where to allow for cleaning. Than after all colors are called they will ask everyone to please leave the ship. I take my time getting off. So. much easier to find your luagge when only a few bags are left.:D

Nothing wrong with the Conquest.

It does however have a history of slow disembarkation and the airports are a brazillian miles away. So if you are flying, best to make arrangements to get off the ship ASAP.

We were on the Sensation in April. Had VIP boarding only. During disembarking we stayed in cabin waiting to hear when we could leave the ship. Our room steward asked us to leave the room. We left the room. Ended up getting in a long line of people. Took another way down to the area to disembark and got off the ship in no time.
