Nebuckeye Posted May 21, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2007 We are sailing July1 from Vancouver on Coral Princess and have taked to a company called Alskan Personal Tours about a 6 person tour in Juneau. Has anyone used them? We are also thinking of renting a car in Skagway, good or bad? Thanks for the help. Buckeye
cruisin 07 Posted May 21, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2007 I think the largest car that Avis rents in Skagway is an Impala I think. Larger cars are only available if someone has dropped one off. Our group of 7 have rented a local in Skagway (van) by the hour and a taxi company (van) in Juneau by the hour. This way no one has to drive and we get a tour guide also. Just another option to consider.

Irina Posted May 22, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 22, 2007 This is our first Alaska cruise, and I have a couple of questions. First, in Skagway, should we do the 3 1/2 hr. train ride, hire a driver, or rent a car and drive to Emerald Lake? Second, I thought we would do a helicopter/glacier landing in Juneau, but just read a warning in Fodor's about checking the safety rating for each co., to be sure they have very few (or no) crashes. Please advise!!!
