Ephraim Posted May 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2007 The Montreal Bus and Metro are on strike. As with all our strikes, the Essential Services Council has decided that Bus and Metro service will be available from 6H00 to 9H00, 15H30 to 18H00 and from 23H00 to 1H00. On weekends 14H00 to 17H00 in the afternoon instead of 15H30 to 18H00. Before and after those times there is no public bus or metro service. I hope this doesn't cause too much of a problem to our visitors. Incidentally, you can rent bikes and in-line skates not far from the port in Montreal, in case you want to use them as alternative travel. Taxis are still available, but it might take a bit more time to call one during peak hours when the bus and metro aren't running.
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2007 Thanks for the information. Do you have any idea how long the strike will last?
Ephraim Posted May 24, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted May 24, 2007 Nope. Unfortunately, they never tell us. Since service has to be provided during rush hours and at the end of the day, it isn't crippling.
