tinetine Posted May 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2007 Does anyone know if Gaucho/Capri pants are appropriate for the dining room, except on Formal night. I have picked a few outfits with nice dress shoes and was wondering if this is appropriate. Any advice or suggestions would be great. I have a friend going on the Empress and my family is going on Mariner. We were just wondering.

DukeFamily Posted May 24, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2007 Have you noticed there's a Fashion and Beauty forum? That's where you'll get your info (and flaming darts) on "appropriate" dining room attire. But since you asked, capris and gauchos are totally appropriate in the DR; I'd say on any night except formal nights.

philnpen Posted May 24, 2007 #11 Share Posted May 24, 2007 Capri pants are fine. There is no enforcement of any dress code anyway. As for proof, we were on a Majesty cruise last year at dinner the last night a young man was so proud of the profanity filled shirt he purchased in Key West that he had to wear it to dinner. I asked the Maitre D about it and the reply I got was that if they asked that young man to change his shirt that he would probably complain about his rights. His reply was inadequate so my right, and that of at least one other party at our table, was to keep the Maitre D's tip in our pocket. The rest to the wait staff were tipped. The shirt read "(expletive) you, you (expletive)ing (expletive). I also wrote my complaint on the survey form and again on line when I got home. Left phone number, address, and email address. No response.
