Hi! A few questions regarding Diamond Princess.... we will be sailing on the 9/19 cruise which is going back and forth to Hawaii!

1. Dining - we were unable to get a seating... we are on an open seating.... how does that work?

2. Dress Code - what is being worn for formal nights and casual nights?

3. Is there a movie theater? And what types of movies are being played?

4. Pools - is it difficult to get a chair?

5. Any MUST see's or do's?

Thanks in advance for advice!!! Aloha!

Arrive at the anytime dining room betwen 5pm and 10pm. You will either ask to sit with others or by your lonesome.

If there is a short wait then they will give you a pager.

2. Dress Code - what is being worn for formal nights and casual nights?

For the guy....

Tux or suit on formal nights, on casual nights, polo type shirt (resort casual).

3. Is there a movie theater? And what types of movies are being played?

The Princess theater which is also used for production shows, comedians etc, has movies at various times throughout the cruise, (RV, Nardia, etc, fairly new ones) look in the daily newsletter.

4. Pools - is it difficult to get a chair?

It can be depending on where you want to sit, if you want right next to one of the four pools then get out early to find your chair. If not there are still plenty of chairs available.

5. Any MUST see's or do's?

We have sailed the Diamond 3 times, you will love it. If you like a being served for breakfast and lunch then forgo the buffet and go to the dining room during those times.

Try the Sterling Steakhouse for one of the alternative restaurants. Great seafood. Hint, on lobster tail night in the regular dining rooms our waiter in the Sterling brought us up a whole plate full of tails to have with our steaks.

Thanks in advance for advice!!! Aloha!

Hope this helps....

When breakfast and lunch are served in the dining room, which dining room is used on the Diamond? Also, if you use anytime dining, which of the three dining rooms did you prefer? Thank you.

The main traditional dining room aft Deck 6. :)

I liked the Sterling and the Pacific Moon.
