kkdleon Posted October 7, 2007 #953 Share Posted October 7, 2007 Now find a way to watch prices-- if the price comes down you want to request a refund. Do you just do it by watching the Carnival Website? My PVP was telling me that Carnival regulates the pricing that you would get from the clearing houses like Orbitz/Travelocity/etc. so they should all be the same. He also said the only difference in pricing might come from a TA who bought in bulk when the cruise first went on sail in anticipation of a rate hike. They would be the only ones who could still offer it cheaper because they pd. less. Has this been your experience also or is he feeding me a line? My cruises have been as groups. so my prices have been lower. Yes, you use the carnival web site. Make sure you are making believe you are booking you same cat that you booked. Since your PVP cant watch all the sailings for a price decrease how would they know it came down? this way by checking youdont have to bother him /her to lookit up for you. I hope your agent checked for all discounts. (senior discount, resident rates, maybe even military rates if someone in your party is a past military person) We don't qualify for any of these discounts and this is our first time on CCL. I'll just check the web daily. If there was something cheaper for our cat. cabin on one of the clearing houses, would CCL be obligated to honor it? HOt and cool club. the lido deck all the way aft on starboard side only. Believe it or not, the casino bar is actually split in half, one side is smoking, the other side is non. Made no sense to us. I don't know if the other bars follow this idea as well, it seems quite silly to me. :)

Would you possibly know if the Dining Room (one or both) is/are open on the "At Sea" days? Only open during the "In Port" days, or open every day? Thanks... Would you possibly know if the Dining Room (one or both) is/are open on the "At Sea" days? Only open during the "In Port" days, or open every day? Thanks... The dining room for breakfast and lunch is opened everyday. (there are quite a few people that stay on the ship while inport.) this is from the 6 day cruises. AlleyCat: That must be something new because it was not split in the begining of Sept. What the heck is the purpose of that--- the casino is fully opened and im sure the smoke must drift. (I could never understand the purpose of the walk way on the promanade deck being smoke free but you can smoke at the bar there-- which seating is all opened. and the casino is all opened there by the walk way too. does it really make a difference? We ate in the aft dining room for lunch on Monday which we were in Key West. And Breakfast the Saturday we came back to Fort Lauderdale. (Lower level- the top level is closed and locked (I must say I was impressed on how uncrowded the dining room was for breakfast that day - thats they first time I encountered hardly anyone there on embarkation day. caribbean dreams Posted October 8, 2007 #966 Share Posted October 8, 2007 I have yet to come across a clock in any cabin on any ship . I have never understtod why no clocks, i understand they want you to have a relaxing vacation but they also want you to be at dinner at certain times, arrives for games, shows & shore excursions on time so.......We do need some kind of clock in our cabins. snorkelman Posted October 8, 2007 #968 Share Posted October 8, 2007 Just got off the Liberty yesterday. no clock in the cabin. You can change your diningroom table from 1-3 in the golden dining room (it was either 1-3 or 1:30 - 3:30. The place to meet the matre d is on the upper part of the golden dining room. Tip - avoid wasting calories on the terrible cheesecakes. If you want cheesecake, spend the $2 and buy a slice at the little pastry shop where they sell fancy coffee (deck 5 I think). Just checked my capers for the 6-day from Sept. 23 - 29 and there were no open seating lunches on our port days. The lower aft dining room was open every day for breakfasts; my mother-in-law went every morning for her cappuccino and then we would go up to the buffett. The breakfast in the dinning room was quite empty on the dembarkation day but it seemed like a lot of passengers must have done the early self-assist that cruise because a lot of cabins we walked by were already being made-up by 8:30 am and we had number 33 for the tags. I used my cell phone so i could know the time in the cabin as my watch weren't visable at night. I had a chocolate cheesecake at the chocolate buffet and it was pretty good, of course that could have been because of the extra chocolate drizzled over it

(most dont) Cell phones will be changing times when you cross over into that time zone. (I have Sprint/netxtal and got no service once we left the home port-- so i couldnt see the time even if i wanted to
1cruiser2004 Posted October 14, 2007 #973 Share Posted October 14, 2007 After I started reading some of the responses, a Carnival PVP called and answered a lot of my questions. What I was trying to say when I wrote I have some control over the deck is that I can pick a category for the inside cabins and that will determine what deck we're on. We did not get a fabulous deal because I really wanted to have some say in where we are on the ship, but the PVP was very nice. Needless to say, we're booked for 7/12/08 in room 8286 and I have my fingers crossed for NO upgrades:) ! So now that we're booked, what will we do? Our 10 year old will not be spending all of his time in the kids club; we do a lot of activities as a family. On the RCCL Freedom we had access to a climbing wall, a surf/boogie board machine, a wet play area (H2O Zone) as well as a regular pool w/ jacuzzis, an arcade and a game room, and a 9-hole mini golf course. In trying to look at the ship on CCL website, specifics were not easily identified on what was on the ship, so I'm hoping some of you have first hand info on what we will do when we are not in port. I'm sure our DS will be entertained in the club some nights without us, but being an only he is used to running with the big dogs, so to speak. We're very excited about cruising with Carnival, and from what everyone has written, I doubt we'll be disappointed! You should find plenty to do with your ten-year old. They do have a large arcade, the outdoor movie screen, the slide (which is perfect for 10), and the shows. Be sure to take him to the pirate Soul store and museum in Key West. This is the 1st time we are switching from RCCL as well. Our child is 15 now. I hope Club 02 isn't too wild.
