iluvcrewzn Posted January 26, 2008 #1101 Share Posted January 26, 2008 Anyone had an experience with large coolers on the Liberty? Apparently, they recently changed their policy about taking large coolers on board. When we were on it this summer, it was not a problem to take a cooler on board. I am wondering if it will be an issue for a future cruise? Anyone sailed on the Liberty in January and take a large cooler with you? Please let us know. Thank you! I don't think they allow them anymore, but you can bring the soft ones that you can fold up.
DENNAS Posted January 27, 2008 #1102 Share Posted January 27, 2008 On the 6 night cruise, the 2nd formal night, I've read in a few places that the dress code is not as strict as the first formal night.... so can I just wear a sun dress and dh wear slacks and collared shirt? Will we look out of place? How do most people dress? We would love to NOT have to dress formally if at all possible. TIA

But I have a suggestion. If you wear a wrap over your sundress then take it off at the table you will be more than fine. You can buy them in the gift shop for around $10. (Just and idea.) I am wondering if it will be an issue for a future cruise? Anyone sailed on the Liberty in January and take a large cooler with you? Please let us know. Thank you! We were on the Glory Jan 19-26th. Some friends of ours took a medium size igloo cooler and attached a luggage tag to it. A few hours later they were called to the pursers desk and told that coolers over 12" x 12" are no longer allowed. Carnival kept our friends cooler but gave them a bag for their soft drinks so they could carry the drinks back on. The crazy part which we still have not figured out yet is that the couple was escorted off the ship and had to go back through security all over again. TIA I've just been on one cruise (so far!), but I'd say there were more people not as dressed up. DH wore white linen pants and a yellow guayabera and I wore a white peasant skirt and yellow shirt - I talked him into this so we could take some nice casual photos that night. We were comfortable in this and didn't feel underdressed. Oh yeah, and we wore sandals too :) . It's your vacation and you should feel comfortable. UpstateCruizer Posted January 30, 2008 #1108 Share Posted January 30, 2008 We are sailing the 8 night Eastern Carribean in April. I'm curious as to how the dining is set up for that night? When we were in Cozumel for a late night we had open seating dining in the dining rooms. Does anyone that has sailed this lately know if this will be the case that night? I've searched this thread for the answer but didn't see it. I've also read that there are no shows on that night as well as no casino and no shops open. Will there be music in the lounges? We've done this port in the past and really prefer to stay on the ship but we are worried that there might not be much going onboard? Thanks :)

Thanks :) Betty: I would ask on another roll call but I dont know if the Liberty has sailed this itinerary yet to answer your question- Now I have sailed on a ship that had a late night port--Victory in San Juan and Destiny in Aruba and both nights were regular seatings and lounges were opened at night. No theater show on late nights though. In San Juan you will be surprised on the amount of people that will stay on the ship-- dont expect it to be empty. How about this be the night you do the Supper club?
Soul2-Cruise Posted January 30, 2008 #1113 Share Posted January 30, 2008 Hi All, DH, myself (4th Carnival Cruise) and 3 sets of his cousins (1 couple 2nd cruise, other 2 couples are 1st time cruisers). We are sailing on the Liberty on 3/1/08 (Eastern). I have a question. Does anyone know if you can hear any noise from the galley on the Main Deck? We are in an outside cabin. Thanks.:)

jimbug Posted January 30, 2008 #1115 Share Posted January 30, 2008 Does anyone know which menus are used on the 8-night western caribbean route? I am trying to decide whether or not (and when) we want to go to Harry's. Thanks!

Tbay-eh Posted January 30, 2008 #1117 Share Posted January 30, 2008 Does anyone know which menus are used on the 8-night western caribbean route? I am trying to decide whether or not (and when) we want to go to Harry's. Thanks!  If you go to Fun Ship Site and go to the very-very bottom there are two lines. The bottom one you will FAQ. Pull that up and go to dining options. You can see sample menus. They are basically all the same for all ships, there are minor changes but nothing too big. Gives you a basic idea of menus and dates. I believe it shows 7 day not 8 day but that is neither here nor there. Also, you can make a reservation based on this and when you get on the ship go to the restaurant and ask to see the long term menu. If it is the same then fine if not you can always go and change your reservations at Harry's. We are sailing on February 16th on the Liberty and have reservations there. I made them for Tuesday as I did not want to miss Formal Nights as I find the food better on these nights and did not want to do when we are at a port. Good Luck:cool:

Redheadsmama Posted February 3, 2008 #1122 Share Posted February 3, 2008 Hello everyone. My name is Gail. My Husband and I booked our first cruise on the Liberty November 22/08. Any suggestion, do or don'ts will be most appreciated. We are doing the Western Cruise. Are there things to do right off the Ship at the Ports? Cozumel Grand Cayman Ocho Rio I doubt we will have much money for excursions. We love to look in shops and wonder around. Any ideas?
PittsburghGirlee Posted February 3, 2008 #1123 Share Posted February 3, 2008 Does anyone know if they have "Let it Ride" in the casino on the Carnival Liberty? We just love this game and someone had told me that they don't think the Liberty has this table game.
serene56 Posted February 3, 2008 #1124 Share Posted February 3, 2008 Are there things to do right off the Ship at the Ports? Cozumel Grand Cayman Ocho Rio s? in grand caman you should at least go swimming with the stingrays- it will only be 35.00 if you use a private vendor. in cozumel there are tons of stores either across from the dock--or downtown--depending on where the ship is docked. same with grand cayman-- its a tender port where you gotta get on another boat to take you to the pier. stores will be across the street. If you can only look in the stores i suggest you go o island villiage which is walking distance from the ship. check out the port of calls boad
CrispyCruzer Posted February 3, 2008 #1125 Share Posted February 3, 2008 Does anyone know if they now have a dedicated line for platium members? The last time we went out of Lauderdale, it was all one line until you got upstairs.
