uncbossfan Posted January 11, 2009 #1477 Share Posted January 11, 2009 4 of us (2 couples) are going on our first cruise leaving Miami on April 18 on the Liberty. We're all 26/27, and like to get pretty wild. Any suggestions on bars/pools to hang out at? Whats a beer going for these days as well? Trying to read this forum as much as I can, but honestly its pretty overwhelming. If anybody else is on this cruise let me know, and or if you have taken this or any cruise to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, or San Juan before, what are some good excursions? Appreciate the feedback in advance!
Rayefan Posted January 11, 2009 #1478 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Quite right...we just got off the Liberty on the 13th...our room was 1003 which was very nice. Door to deck is to the right and does say "No entry after dark" and can be very breezy when "at sea days"...LOL. Not much traffic and nice quiet get away when needed. We have been assigned cabin 1003 coming up the end of the month. While I know it is a handicap accessible cabin did you notice it to have a bit more room? I was told the bathroom was a little bit larger and the room actually had a window. About us, we are two co-workers getting away from the snow! Do you have a picture to share? Thanks! serene56 Posted January 11, 2009 #1479 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Your room is indeed a handicapped cabin- beds sit headoard to headboard. (do yourself a favor and put your pillow down at the other end so you dont accidently hit the buzzer for help-- it sits right at the headboard. The bathroom is bigger to accommodates a wheelchair for the shower. there is a window but it is obstructed--you will see a wall- outside your window is a public deck that all passengers have access to. There will be a door on the both sides of the ship to get access to. There is no sofa only the vanity chair.

The galley tour is on sea days-- if it is held- if noro is around it wont be held
lennel Posted January 15, 2009 #1488 Share Posted January 15, 2009 They dont do the galley tour anymore for big groups, they say for health (noro) reasons which is logical. If your a platinum member you can request a galley tour with the matre-d, The Captains party is in the smaller room Karaokke bar, I thought it should have been in the theater. Although invited I did not go to the past guest party on this ship, was winning (for once) in the casino and missed it

Soo many people.-- Unless you are stating is where the Captain was meeting people.
mommybean Posted January 15, 2009 #1490 Share Posted January 15, 2009 Liberty is in Drydock from 10/04/08-10/18/09. They are supposed to be converting the Empress Room into the Circle "C" Teen Club. I just wondered if anyone has sailed with young teens since they added the Circle "C". Does anyone have any info? Thanks :)
serene56 Posted January 15, 2009 #1491 Share Posted January 15, 2009 teen club is for 15-17 years old. There will be a meeting the first night for the kids to meet up and get to know each other. What would you like to know?
mommybean Posted January 15, 2009 #1492 Share Posted January 15, 2009 I was looking for any info on the new teen club (12 - 14 yrs). Someone said Carnival created a new place (Circle C) for that age group and I just wondered if anyone knew anything about it (what was there, did their kids enjoy it, etc)

Someone said Carnival created a new place (Circle C) for that age group and I just wondered if anyone knew anything about it (what was there, did their kids enjoy it, etc) Last we sailed Liberty the older teens went into their own disco- on the deck plan its called Club H2o and its across from the Jardin Cafe. the rest of the kids met in the disco Hot & Cool place both are located on the Promanade deck. 12-14 is a really tough age group on the ships- these kids think they are too cool for programs. But please if you do have a teen that age-- make sure they go to the teen meeting that firt night to meet the other kids-- that way they will have someone to hang out with.. the Hot & Cool club is closed to everyone except this age group til 9:30 each evening. lennel Posted January 16, 2009 #1494 Share Posted January 16, 2009 I did not notice that they did it in different areas, but i do know it is more enjoyable in the main showroom with the band and stage to dance on, we did the imagination right before the liberty and the captains party was much better there
Creole Girl Posted January 18, 2009 #1495 Share Posted January 18, 2009 Great information. I have been going through the thread for a couple of days now. We will be sailing in July. Until then I will be looking for as much info as I can get.
cjm61 Posted January 20, 2009 #1496 Share Posted January 20, 2009 Rayefan, I'll be on the 2/7/09 sailing right after you. Have a great trip. Please write a review when you return. I always like to see other people's perspectives on how the cruise was. It's amazing how so many people can be on the same ship, even the same week and have totally different experiences. It'll be nice to see if from 1 week to the next if there are any differences or if consistency will reign. Happy Sailing.

Squirtle Posted January 20, 2009 #1498 Share Posted January 20, 2009 I was looking for any info on the new teen club (12 - 14 yrs). Someone said Carnival created a new place (Circle C) for that age group and I just wondered if anyone knew anything about it (what was there, did their kids enjoy it, etc) Mommybean, my 12-year-old son loved Circle C! He went to a few dances and played basketball late one night with the Circle C group. You don't have to sign up the first day -- my son didn't join until our third day onboard. Thanks Squirtle :) We'll probably check into it the first day, that way we make sure she doesn't miss anything. I really think this is a difficult age because they are too old for the "little kid stuff", but certainly not old enough to be in the same group with 17 & 18 yr olds. I'm so glad Carnival added the extra age group!
