We had a wonderful visit to the Old City sailing on the MSC Lirica. We took a self guided walking tour using a map of the city. There were 2 or 3 ships in port that day and the streets were congested and sidewalks full of people but it was so much fun and really not a bad walk. Lots of little public parks to take a break in. We had great coffee and spanish pastries at La Bombonera- a greasy spoon diner- spanish style on Calle Sanfrancisco 259. We had dinner at the El Convento hotel- that area is very artsy and we brought back some unique pieces of art as souveniers. The hotel used to be an old convent and it has 3 separate restaurants- we ate at Cafe Bohemia- they have the best sangria and great spanish style tapas and desserts. Would recommend both of those places..
