When & Where do we eat dinner???

We will be on the Princess train from Denali and arriving in Whittier at 5:15 p.m. Coral Princess leaves at 9:30 p.m. We are scheduled for early dinner seating, but I think this might not apply for this first night??? After boarding, do we need to RUSH to eat, or what? Do we need to change out of our jeans or will this first night be very casual? All other posts regarding boarding and what to do first seem to be by people who arrive quite a bit earlier. First time cruisers here, so any insights are appreciated. THX!

Meaning the dining room is opened for a more extended time, and you will be seated as you show up. With Princess, they already have Personal Choice, so it usually is for everyone that first night. Usually, jeans are fine since luggage may not be delivered.
