BlackJack2 Posted June 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2007 We are sailing on the Rhapsody of the Seas, leaving Galveston on July 8. We will be arriving between 9 am - 10 am. Can we park at EZ Cruise or Lighthouse Parking that early? Can you board the ship and then disembark to sightsee in Galveston? Any answers would be great; we've never been to Galveston before! Yes you can. I do not know how easy it will be with everyone trying to board. Plan B could be for you to visit the town upon your return.
CaptData Posted June 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2007 Why not do a quick tour when you arrive in Galveston then go park and board. Boarding normally begins around 12 noon as long as you get back to the docks before say 3:00 pm (at the terminal) you will be fine.
springtxbill Posted June 3, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 3, 2007 You can take my parking space. I will be on the Rhapsody the week before you and will probably self-disembark so my spot will be open for you by around 8:00.:)
wolfganghowell Posted June 3, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2007 The Strand is actually a short walk from your parking. The beach area is only 5 minutes away by car. You can do a nice drive around well before boarding.
cruise.freak Posted June 16, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 16, 2007 I would also go around town before boarding. Since Rhapsody and Conquest dock the same day that is about 5000 people coming and going so I wouldn't want to get off the ship once I got on. KOOLBEANS Posted June 17, 2007 #7 Share Posted June 17, 2007 Yep, I also would check out the town/beach before going on board. I really like Galveston and enjoy my time there. Also, saild Rhapsody and absolutely loved it. Very nice ship and the people were just unbelievably friendly. Hope you have a very nice cruise!!
