zachnlucy Posted April 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2004 I've noticed on Alaskan round-trip cruises, the starboard side always books up when there are still lots of cabins on the port side. Does anyone know why? Cindy Sun to Alaska! 02/03 ~~ Holiday 07/03 ~~ Conquest
cjh Posted April 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2004 From the 2nd day of the cruise you see land the whole trip. Star Princess 7/
Budget Queen Posted April 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2004 If sailing out of Vancouver- from the first day- you see land. But routings are flexable and only a guide. I have been on round trips that had open ocean sailing way away from land for 2 days.
zachnlucy Posted April 19, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted April 19, 2004 O man! I thought both sides see land the entire way. My cabin is a GTY minisuite but the only available ones shown are on the port side. So the port side just looks like an ocean for the most part? Budget Queen Posted April 20, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2004 As mentioned above- the route maps are a guide. Heading into port will have very close land viewing. Several hours before and after Juneau and Skagway offer great views.
