sgh20037 Posted June 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2007 Does anyone have suggestions for tours from Portland, ME to Kennebunkport? Is it best to do the ships tour - or would we get more from a private tour company? The ships tour info says "approximately 1 hour of free time in Dock Sq. of Kennebunkport". Having never been there - is that enough?
the_woodman Posted June 4, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2007 I took a ship tour (Carnival Victory) a few years. It was great. We had about an hour to wander around town. sgh20037 Posted June 4, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted June 4, 2007 Wow - what great photos! Thank you for sharing them. I can hardly wait until September when I get to see these places in person!
cruisetmc Posted June 6, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 6, 2007 We took this tour (Carnival Victory) last year. They give you a small tour of Portland before you go to Kennebunkport. You do have about an hour to walk around. It was enough for us to look around the shops and grab a sandwich to eat on the bus.
mii Posted June 7, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 7, 2007 We also took the ships excursion(Princess) and had a nice ride to Kennebunkport. Before getting there they took us by Sr. Bush's summer residence. I think we had about 1 1/2 hr to see Kennebunkport; fabulous place, just like an old new england town. Had plenty of time to get a snack and visit the shops.
