liz60 Posted June 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2007 Can anyone help with this? Next May we are travelling both ways on the QM2 - from Southampton back to Southampton. We have found a window of opportunity where we can be 'dropped off' for a few days in New York. We last did something similar in 2005 and were able to leave the bulk of our luggage on the ship. It made life so much easier taking just one suitcase off. Is this facility still available? I seem to remember that there was some controversy about it before. DocM3 Posted June 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2007 We were able to do this on the QE2 but find that there is no provision for storing luggage on the QM2 - wish there was, we would find that handy as well.
cruiseluvva Posted June 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 6, 2007 I know someone who did just that and left luggage on board for the few days they were in NY.
mufi Posted June 6, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 6, 2007 We were hoping we would be able to store our luggage aboard when we are in NY for four days next month and returning on QM2, but were told this is not possible. Still hoping though. David.
anniel Posted June 6, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 6, 2007 I rang Cunard as like others we will be sailing out and back from New York. We are not keen to lug all our luggage to the hotel for 4 nights! However, the chap I spoke to told me we cannot leave any luggage on board the ship. Evidently, this is due to enhanced security measures since the world became a more dangerous place. Very sad and very inconvenient.
