Question re: debarkation on Golden

Does the Golden have 'self-debarkation'? That is, can we keep our bags in the cabin and debark first thing in the morning? We are driving from Seattle to Los Angeles and would like to get an early start.

Thanks!

I don't recall that option but it is possible. You can get off the ship first if you request it and that is generally around 8am. The other option is to declare that you have an 11am flight out of Sea Tac and they will be sure to get you off the ship first. -- have a great cruise.

You can request early disembarkment where you carry off your own luggage. I would recommend going down to the purser's desk mid-cruise and tell them you "need" a ticket for 100 (first ones off). Don't wait until you see what they deliver because it will be too late. I've been on the Golden twice and found by asking early, it worked out great (they delivered the tickets to our cabin within an hr.)

When we sailed the Golden into Galveston, they did indeed have self-disembarkation. You have to manage all your bags yourself, they cannot help you. In Galveston, due to the large number of Texans aboard, they had over 800 numbers for self-disembarkation to go through.

Have a GREAT cruise!
