shipsmail Posted June 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2007 We are just back from the Grand Transatlantic Cruise (NY-Southampton). It was our fifth SS cruise and maybe the best one. Service, friendliness, meals and everything just outstanding. Fully booked, but never crowded.

eleang Posted June 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2007 Great to hear that ! We are sailiing in the Shadow in a few days, I'm curious how is dining in the casual cafe, did u try it? Always good service. Have a great cruise on the SHADOW!
cechase Posted June 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 13, 2007 Shipsmail, was Marilyn the bar tender in the bar on your cruise? She was an absolute delight and made us so happy before going to dinner. She is a gem.
CASHIPman Posted June 13, 2007 #7 Share Posted June 13, 2007 Shipsmail, was Marilyn the bar tender in the bar on your cruise? She was an absolute delight and made us so happy before going to dinner. She is a gem. Marilyn? A gem? There was a Marilyn on our Lisbon-NYC "Shadow" voyage last month and she was no gem...she was a tiara! A jewel encrusted bracelet! An entire jewelry store! :D This was the 2nd time we had the pleasure of sailing with Marilyn. It was a delight to see her smiling face on the Shadow...but of course it was nice to see so many smiling faces on the ship.

eleang Posted June 14, 2007 #9 Share Posted June 14, 2007 Thank you shipsmail, It seems everyone highly recommends The Restaurant vs LT. I think I will try it a couple of nights, probably the 2 formal nights.
Capt.F Posted June 15, 2007 #10 Share Posted June 15, 2007 Marilyn was the "winner" of the bartenders' contest onboard the Grand Transatlantic Crossing that we just disembarked. She received a "day off" as the prize. She is a very nice person; tries very hard to remember your name and is very professional.
duct tape Posted June 15, 2007 #11 Share Posted June 15, 2007 Was that eastbound or westbound? If eastbound...how did you like the Dead Sea MudSlide duo? Be kind.
CASHIPman Posted June 18, 2007 #12 Share Posted June 18, 2007 Was that eastbound or westbound? If eastbound...how did you like the Dead Sea MudSlide duo? Be kind. Hi duct tape... Out of the five libations I voted for the Mudslide for best taste. That was a fun afternoon in the Panorama.

CASHIPman Posted June 19, 2007 #14 Share Posted June 19, 2007 Thank you! I just wish someone would burn the pix! :) I seem to recall there was an interesting story 'bout how the drink, (or the name of the drink?) came into being? (Was either Ken or Susan the "bartender"? The memories are fading!!)

Unfortunately after dinner she was in the Casino and not in the main bar on our cruise.
