LadeeBug100 Posted August 13, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2004 Does RCI stay on Eastern time on Canada/New England Cruises or do they change to Atlantic time ?
BaumD Posted August 13, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2004 I asked this question a while ago and was answered by several people that the ship stays on Bayonne (Eastern) time.

Dave King Posted August 16, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2004 BaumD You're correct. The ship stays on Eastern Time. Halifax and St. John's are on Atlantic Time. All the tours are listed in Eastern time.
allen.crawford Posted August 16, 2004 #7 Share Posted August 16, 2004 Not to complicate things, but St. John's Nfld is on Newfoundland and Labrador time (locally) which is 1/2 hour later than Atlantic time. Not sure if the tours are setting their times based upon local time or another time zone.
BaumD Posted August 16, 2004 #8 Share Posted August 16, 2004 Most people are going to St. John, New Brunswick(Atlantic time), NOT St. Johns, Newfoundland (Labrador time) which is further to the northeast. They are two different cities that are a few hundred miles apart.
allen.crawford Posted August 16, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 16, 2004 Baum, Being Canadian, I certainly know the difference between St. John's and St. John (been to both too!). There have been numerous stories of foreign TA's making mistakes in booking PAXs to the wrong destination. On one flight, I even met one of those unfortunate travellers. Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable cruise!
Joy2Day Posted August 17, 2004 #10 Share Posted August 17, 2004 Last year on the Granduer 10-day, we were on Eastern Time for Bar Harbor, changed to Atlantic Time for Halifax and Sydney, then back for Quebec City. Rather than change back to Atlantic for Saint John, NB, we stayed on Eastern time for that port -- which caused some confusion. Apparently, our tour guide (on-our-own) was expecting the ship to arrive at 8:30 Atlantic based on the port schedule, but we arrived at 8:30 Eastern/9:30 Atlantic.
