Hapinowagain2 Posted August 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2004 Have often thought about a repositioning cruise, but isn't air fare a lot more since you are not buying a round trip ticket?
Doug&Nadine Posted August 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2004 A lot of times open jaw flights (Flights that arrive in one city and then leave from another) are quite reasonable. Some times only a few dollars more. This is especially true when you are flying to Europe. It seems that the farther away you are from your departure point to your destination the lower the additional charge for an open jaw flight. Deloresgardella Posted August 15, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2004 We are doing an repositioning cruise in April. Several airlines have one way fares for about $156 one way. That is Delta, continental and United. AA wants over $300 one way, redicules. Delores

Logie Posted August 15, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 15, 2004 It does depend. I just booked the Dawn for a short repo cruise Vancouver to LA. The balcony cabin was only $169, which repo cruises usually have cheaper cabin prices. The cruise is Vancouver to LA. Air was $207 to Vancouver and $39 from LAX. So I think for under $500 a 3 night cruise is a pretty good deal. I spend a bit of time though researching all the pricing before I book though, which helps. Colo Cruiser Posted August 15, 2004 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2004 The air like this used to be very high. But know it is more affordable. We booked Frontier for our 3 day Island from Vancouver to LA. We fly Denver to Seattle drive to Vancouver and fly back from LA to Denver for $265. I thought it would be much more. kkorman Posted August 15, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 15, 2004 Be sure to check the low fare arilines... Southwest, America West, Jet BLue. They do not price like other airlines for one-way. I have booked many one ways very reasonable (all under $100) for PHX to left coast departures and returns.
Jeepers385 Posted August 15, 2004 #10 Share Posted August 15, 2004 We've been very lucky where for 1 repo cruise we got a special rate through the agency we booked and another time the airline agent told us to book a rt and only use it 1 way for a very good price.
