stew300 Posted June 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2007 I have trouble getting masks to keep from leaking a bit. Do the goggles on the PG have a purge valve? If not, I may buy one that does have the purge feature before I leave home.
catmommy Posted June 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2007 The snorkel/dive gear on PG seemed to be of good quality and well maintained. But I did not notice purge valves on the masks. They do work with you to find the best fit. But to me your mask is really very personal; there is nothing to ruin a snorkel like a leaking mask. stew300 Posted June 21, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted June 21, 2007 Caroline: Thank you for the information. Since you found that they tried hard to fit well, I will hope I get along without the purge valve. I have never used goggles with that valve but it seemed like a good idea with so much snorkeling on this trip.
Iamboatman Posted June 21, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2007 I think you will find purge valves are really becoming a thing of the past. They tend to clog open with the slightest grain of dirt and you can clear a mask without one just as easily with the right technique. Overall, I think you will be drying without one, so don't worry.
