Tender question in Grand Cayman? 4 ships in port?

Noticed on Cruise-cal that there will be 4 ships in Grand Cayman the day we are there. Have a excursion booked at 9am that is not thru Carnival. Ship to arrive in port around 7am. Will we be able to get off ship in time for excursion?

You should have no issues at all.

It is always possible to be late, but if the ship is on time, you should be fine. They will however leave on time, so don't be late back to the ship. Four ships is not bad.

On our last GC visit, ship arrived at 7:00 and we were off on general tender tickets by 8:15..............

5 ships were in that day..........

Don't sweat it. Remember, the operator of your excursion wants your $$$. Also, the other persons doing your excursion all have to get off either your ship or their ship.

 

Your tour operator is used to all of this, so he/she will be waiting for you when you step off the tenders, whether it's 8:15 or 9:15.

Varies for ship to ship, some don't even use them. Attend the port talk to be sure.

Last time we were in Cayman, we were able to get tender tickets early just by walking up to the table they had set up, even though the announcement said they would not be made available until all ships tours had left.

Once the initial surge of people trying to get off is over, you should have little if any wait to get off. That time will vary depending on how many people on the ship -- larger ships generally take longer to unload.
