Sorrento to Amalfi

Has anyone hired a private guide in Sorrento to drive them along the Amalfi Coast? Need someone that will be sure to get us back to the ship in time. We dock at noon and leave at 7. Would love to have some recommendations from someone that has done this.

His website is the best i have seen....amusing as well.

The tour was wonderful !!!He can even arrange a friend of his to meet you at Pompeii and escort you thorough the site. (the guide is a professor of history) best money I spent on that trip.

1 tip: if you do go to Pompeii buy the english Pompeii excavations transparancies overlay book in a smal kiosk just outside the entrance. I used it the whole toup ...it gave me a terrific insight to the before and after of Pompeii. I got one in Rome as well. I refer to it often even now. My niece is studing Pompeii and I lent it to her. It was a great hit with the teacher and students !!!!

Francesco is a nice young man and will customize the tour for you. He was on time to pick us up and delivered us to the ship with time to spare!!!!! 5 stars !!!!!

The other souvenir I bought for all my friends was gaily wrapped olive oil soap. My friends loved the little soaps and they only cost me 1E each.

They usually come with a plain or painted Italian scene on the top. I just removed mine and hot glued a magnet to the back and put it on the fridge. A great reminder of the trip.

Good Luck. Don't forget to buy some Lemoncello. Lemon liquor. Lovely stuff

Thank you Degas! I went to the web page and he looks exactly what we are looking for. We have been to Pompei twice and it is a great experience if you have a good guide.

Glad you reminded me of the olive oil soap as I still have a bar left from last trip. Don't understand why no one carries it here and have never heard of it. It is wonderful.

Hope the ship will have lots of Lemoncello so I can get my fill as can't bring it back this time.

I am the lady that arranged the tour in oct 05 for the dentists. He took us to a olive oil company and one dentist got a piece of olive wood from the wood pile to take home ( the guy is a wood worker as a hobby)

We had the most wonderful time and look at the pictures often

I can't say enough good things about Gennaro from Sorrento Limo - He is professional, knowledgeable and priced fairly. He took us to wonderful places and adjusted to our schedule and interests. Uses a Mercedes Van.
