Duck Down Posted June 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2007 The Liberty will be stopping in San Juan from 5:00 pm to midnight. We have a 10 and 8 year old and are wondering if we should take them off the ship after dinner (around 8:00 pm). Is there anything to do that the kids might like? Is it safe to walk around Old San Juan? Any shops open? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Rob.

We walk the city without any concerns for safety. There's only one area to stay out of (which is not hard to do - it is very isolated), and you won't be anywhere near that neighborhood unless you get out earlier and head all the way up towards the forts. The challenge you'll have is the schedule. 5pm is already pretty late, but there still are things to do. If you're planning to get off the boat ~8pm, many shops and walking tours will be much more limited. I'd really take advantage of the sunlight while you can (if you can).
