We are booked on Sensation 8/21 - If the ship ends up in different ports will Carnival offer excursions at the new ports? We have booked both of the excursions in Cozumel and Grand Cayman on our own so we would have to make other plans.

What is the policy for the excursions you booked on your own...will you get your money back if the ship can't port there? Just wondering...we're thinking of booking a sting ray tour in GC, but I was going to make sure of what the policy is if the ship can't go there.

I would think that Carnival would offer excursions at the new ports but I'm not for sure...maybe someone else can answer.

Carnival will offer excursions in the new ports. If you book an excursion with Carnival, you will get a refund for missed ports. If you book on your own, find out the tour operator's cancellation policy first.

You can rest assured that they will offer excursions, they know very well what is offered there and in no time you will be showered with the new trips.

If you book on your own, and that is how we do all our trips, be carefull putting money up front and as was mentioned ensure you know what the cancellation policy is

we had booked with a private operator (Coral Breeze)(Belize) in Feb. and due to high winds, were unable to make our snorkel trip with them.(Harbormaster closed the harbour for the day). Refund was waiting on us when we got home. just make sure about refund policy before booking. Coral breeze was great- they even suggested land based excursions for us to consider when we met thier representative at the flag pole.

WE booked with Captain Marvins in GC and they have a policy that if your ship can't get in they don't charge - you actually pay for the trip when you check in. In Cozumel we are just renting a jeep - won't charge if we don't use!!

Here's Sotos policy:

CANCELLATION POLICY
4 days advance notice.
If the ship cannot dock because of weather conditions or arrives
very late and you miss the tour, you will not be charged. If we are
notified in advance in case of illness, there's no charge.
"No shows" are automatically charged 50%.

Kerry is very quick to answer emails. I think we will do the stingray tour with them. Anyone else used them?

*Most* of the independent operators are quite reputable and will not hesitate to refund due to port conditions. Their livelihood depends on their reputation, and news travels quickly in this electronic age. Just know the specifics before you book.
