RCI NCL, or Princess?

We're deciding between Mariner and CB for Oct. and have both booked. When I posed this query on the RCCL boards I got some very helpful answers, but some of the RCCL fans are, dare I say, rabid about how much better that line is. Over here the answers are not of that tone. I appreciate honest opinions that aren't laced with blind loyalty to one line.

Here's what I can get, and you tell me what you think is better and why. I will say that the itin on CB appeals to me more, but we've been to all ports on both the ships.

CB mini suite guarantee (so it will be Dolphin deck) $1000 pp

balcony cabin on Mariner (75 sq ft. less) but balcony is more private $1211 pp

(includes pre-paid gratuities - promo from TA)

I'm 44, and my dh is 34. Our TA told us that in Oct. we'd run into an older crowd on Princess than when we sailed on the Grand in July. She felt we'd find more people our age on the Mariner. The other thing is the Mariner is leaving FL, so this is our last chance to go on her. The older crowd matters only if the sidewalks roll up too early. We loved our HAL cruise, but nightlife on HAL is an oxymoron, and I quote myself from a former post on that. We like some night life, but we don't drink or go to the casino at all. We like shows, movies, games, deck parties, soaking in a hot tub late in the evening, and a bit of dancing. If there's a good and funny entertainer in a piano bar, then we'll do that if there's a non-smoking section (Schooner Bar on the Rhapsody with Derek Lewis was the only time we've found that combo). That all says CB, doesn't it. However, we know we like the rock climbing wall and ice skating, which is Mariner. I don't like the selling disguised as activities, but there's going to be some of that on every ship. We want to exercize and be active yet have a peaceful, relaxing, romantic vacation.

Now, pick my ship for me, because I'm at a loss. lol!
