I need help with the name of a ship from 1989?

I went on a cruise back in April of 1989, on I think Hawaiian American cruise line? I'm trying to remember the name of the Ship I was on but I keep drawing a blank. I cant find my old photos. They are at my parents house somewhere but at the moment I am unable to locate them. Does anyone know the names of the ships that company was sailing in 1989? Any information would help.

If it was Hawaii-American, it would have been the Constitution or the Independence.

In addition to INDEPENDENCE and CONSTITUTION, American Hawaiian also briefly operated LIBERTÉ in Tahiti, but that was from 1985 to 1987 so your cruise must have been on one of the other two.

For s short period of time the Monterey was used in that service. Also there was a vessel called the Leilani that also sailed from Honolulu

I was on the SS Constitution in May of 1989. The Constitution stopped for two nights on Kauai, whle the Independence stopped for two nights in Maui, otherwise, the intenerary was the same...........

Here is a picture of the Independence when we sailed her in 2001. The Constitution was her identical sister.

Thats what I remember it looking like but I don't remember the Multi-color painted stacks. Thats must have been a change they made after i sailed on her.

This might have been more of what she looked like. The brighter colored stacks were added later.

Could the ship have possibly been The SS Minnow? If so, I think she ran aground on Gilligan's Island.
