Aft Cabin

I'm a cruise newbie! What is the aft cabin I keep reading about?

I'm trying to plan a cruise for my honeymoon and we're sailing on the Legend and have no idea what type or room or where we should be? We want a quiet area away from noise. We also would like a balcony or suite. But I have no idea where to start?

aft cabins are the cabins across the back of the ship.

If you want a suite you want one one the aft with a corner wrap around balcony.

(not on deck 5 though as that is not a true suite)

Deck 7 is the most sought after since its between cabin space and away from public areas.

your views will be amazing-- dont worry about being on the wrong side of the ship for viewing...

its quiet back there-- further walk to the stairs/elevators

no oceanbreezes-- keep the curtains closed to keep the cabin cool.

Sometimes aft balconies can be bigger--but this class ship has bigger balconies elsewhere on the ship.

I wrote you a reply on a thread where you were looking for the best balcony cabin to be had.

to view your posts-- click on your name above it will give you three options one of which is to view all psots

Thanks Serene!

So in a nutshell aft cabins have nicer balconies? I will have to look into that when booking. But they tend to be warmer because of the lack of air flow?

Do you know specifically anything about the Legend and the "place to be" on this particular ship?

I couldn't find the other post where you responded.

There are so many helpful tidbits that I am just not aware of. This is a special trip so I want to do it right!

Corner afts on Carnival's spirit class ships (Spirit, Miracle, Legend and Pride) are Cat. 11 Suites. I would highly recommend one of these, especially for your honeymoon! This is what the balcony and cabin looks like on the Spirit:

This was on Deck 8 and a two room suite. Since I was with my mom we had the beds as twins; they make into a nice queen/king :D

And the bathroom is great! There is a separate vanity/dressing area too

Plus booking one of those suites (NOT on deck 5)

you get priorty boarding-- no waiting inlines.

The best two balconies are 7258 or 8232

the cheapest biggest balcony goes to 5236 which is a 7A and obstructed- you can still see out- but the lifebaot sits at your railing-- you wont be able to look directly into the waters.

checkout the deck plans and you can see how long these balconies are-

Those sidewaise cabins are handicapped cabins and if youbook those you stand a chance of being moved-- even the last minute.

a regular balcony on the side- not an extended balcony

the photo shows the divider opened giving it an appearance as a bigger balcony-- but you can see on the floor where the balcony should end.
