Are we there yet? Posted June 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2007 I read in the South Pacific handbook by "Moon Travel" that May 8th is a Holiday, and "everything" will be closed, possibly even the day before and day after. I am trying to think of what we would do besides stay at hotel if that is true. Thank you
bsw845 Posted June 29, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2007 We were there on the TP during this period. Some stores were open just during the morning until about 10am-12pm. Not much of an issue with the cruise ship near by...I wouldn't let this change your plans. One local told us that May is filled with holiday's and I believe there were three while we were there. Still it did not cause any problems...tourism continues.
Are we there yet? Posted June 29, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted June 29, 2007 Thank you for answering my post, I was beginning to think no one had been to Tahiti in May!:D If we rent a car I don't see any problems, it was the transportation and possibly tours that I was concerned about, if we don't. I'm sure we will be able to get to the ship from our hotel either via transfer or taxi, don't you think? The shopping I hope we can do the day we arrive (about 2 days before) or the day the ship sails. Anyway we will be in Tahiti and that is all that matters!:)
