honeyclair Posted July 2, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2007 We will be on the Century for the December 2008 ta from Barcelona to Miami. Just wondering which side of the ship will be best for a cabin. I'm planning on spending a good deal of time on the balcony, even if it means covering up with a blanket drinking hot chocolate. Thanks
ocngypz Posted July 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2007 Then you'll want to be on the port side.. facing in a southerly direction for the sun.
Ask4Jay Posted July 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2007 Honeyclair – On your crossing I would suggest a portside (left) cabin/balcony. During the first week you’ll get the morning sun until noonish. Once you leave the Canary Islands and head almost due west, you should have the sun on your balcony from mid-morning to late afternoon. For the two of us it has to be an aft-facing balcony. Always has been, always will be. No aft cabin? No cruise. On a westbound crossing you’ll have sun in the morning, on an eastbound crossing in the afternoon, with some of the most stunning sunsets. But most important: On an aft balcony you have no wind, which in December is probably going to be a good thing, even with a thick blanky. Remember, after Santa Cruz don’t try to get off the ship until Miami!

Albert Ross Posted July 3, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 3, 2007 The general rule is Port heading West and Starboard heading East - this way you maximise the sun...!
