I weghed in yesterday and i am the same. A little dissapointing after running a marathon, but that is ok. hopefully i will show a loss next week. It is just getting harder and harder. My body likes to hold on to that fat.

Sheila, I can't believe you ran a marathon! I couldn't run around the block!! That is such an incredible accomplishment, don't worry about staying the same this week. Besides, muscle weighs more than fat;) ! You are doing great!

Hey you guys!!! I've been so busy for the past week or so...I've really missed you all!

Sheila...I am so proud of you !! Awesome job on the marathon. What an inspiration you are!!! Your body may be re-adjusting after the marathon and you might have a big loss this week !!!

MY grandmother's birthday party was a big sucess....we had about 80 guest sign the guest book I ate more than I should have, but still lost a pound.

Sheila, I am sure the marathon will have an effect next week. Nil Desperandum. Although you have only 3.5lbs to go till the 10% is reached, how far off your ultimate goal are you? If you do not have too much more to lose I believe it is much harder. I have never got anywhere near my WW goal, so have no personal experience. :)

 

Swansonia, congrats on the pound. It all helps, especially after party time.

Hi Everyone and especially my sister, Donna, who has prompted me here in Michigan to join her in getting rid of some of this belly fat. I'm trying a low carb approach sort of easing into it this week. Trouble is I do love chocolate, and those warm, soft, yeasty, dinner rolls soooo much. But I'm givng it a try. Starting with 10% for our cruise in Feb'08.

Donna is doing really well - and we know that as you get your plan together - Way Of Eating and Way Of Exercising - you'll be posting a loss of your own very soon!

Sheila - AAARRGH! A Marathon and no weight loss? I agree with the others....you've got to be either building up more muscle for your next race ;) - or shrinking on inches! Your still and inspiration to me! :D

Swansonia - Yiippee another pound for you! That's terrific - Especially with the party that you had! Good for you!

Can I join? :D It's been a few years since I've focused on my weight and it's showing. LOL Funny how those pounds just creep up! So, with the kids back in school (time to go to the gym) and a cruise in March for inspiration, it seems like a good time to try and lose some weight. I got my body fat test (UGH) and goals Tuesday and did my first RPM class yesterday. Plenty sore today, but I'm heading to the gym over lunch for a light workout with my sweetie. I thought posting would keep me on track as well. Thanks in advance!

Welcome Alleson. A cruise to look forward to is a great motivator. Do join in the chat and post your stats when you have some. We just cut and paste and change them each week or so.

This week I switched on the WW plan from points to Core and have managed to jump off the plateau. I lost 2 lbs this week. Am fairly pleased with that.

just found your thread, can i join? i started ww in july to lose weight for our 25th anniversary cruise in january 08, so far i've lost 26 pounds and 2 pant sizes. :D hoping to lose at least that much more by january. my downfall is sweets. i have not had a single dessert or piece of candy in 3 months because i'm afraid if i start i won't stop. :o my other problem is i hate salads, yuck! :( my husband is very supportive which helps alot and i have enjoyed reading these posts, you all sound like you really care about each other.

Hey guys! I need some of your wonderful inspiration, I've really been lacking in my diet and excercising and am afraid its gonna get out of control. I have only gained a couple of pounds but the scale is suppose to be going in the other direction:( . My dress is gonna be here in a couple of weeks and I'm no where NEAR being able to fit into it now. I just really need a kick in the behind to get myself going again....help!!!

Here's the info I got from the gym this week, the test I did just had fat and lean percentages, no water ones, so I'm not sure if that changes anything:

*Applies to adults ages 18 and older. Based on information from the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Council on Exercise, Exercise Physiology [4th Ed] by McArdle, Katch, and Katch, and various scientific and epidemiological studies.

Risky (high body fat): Too much body fat can pose serious health risks. Ask your health care professional about how to safely modify your body composition.

Excess Fat: Indicates an excess accumulation of fat over time.

Moderately Lean: Fat level is acceptable for good health.

Lean: Lower body fat levels than many people. This range is excellent for health and longevity.

Ultra Lean: Fat levels sometimes found in elite athletes.

Risky (low body fat): Too little body fat can present health risks, especially for women. If in doubt, check with your health care professional.

Alleson-water weight as we know flucutates like crazy!!! Drop back on salt, drink your 8 glasses also. And if anyone is like me I have to stay far, far away from the scale or I'll weigh everyday and really upset myself. I really do try for once a week.

 

Been a busy week, been good, but feel like I've been kind of sloppy about "everything" that's gone into my mouth. We'll see on Sunday....

Hi everyone, I need help. For the last 3 days all i have done is eat. I have not even exercised in 3 days. My excuse, i just wasnt feeling all that great. So i need to snap back to reality and get back on program. Hopefully tommorow will be better. I am planning on going for a short run in the morning.

Sheila, give yourself a break! You just ran a marathon! Do you know how many calories you burned??? You were probably just replenishing. Ok, now you had your days of rest and eating, just don't lose your momentum, get back in there! You are so close, you can do it!

Hi, if you are still welcoming new participants I would like to join. We are going on our first cruise December 16 (Beth, I see you are leaving the same day) and I sorely need to lose some weight. I have gained a ton in the past year. 10% would be 25 pounds for me, but, realistically if I can lose 20 pounds by then I will be happy.

 

I went back to the gym today, and fully expect to be hurting tomorrow. Also, it is our Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend, but I am going to eat in moderation and exercise every day.

 

Sam, I wish there was something I could say to help, but all I can offer is support. Tomorrow will be better. Sometimes when I am struggling I make a deal with myself to just stick with my program for that day. Just one day. That's it. Hang in there. :)

Glad you are on track Sheila!!! Remember how good it feels to run just for the joy of it!

 

I'm down 1 lb this week. Been good this week, and was thinking I would see a better loss, since I've been going at it so well.

 

I watched Biggest Loser the other night and one of the women in the red team only lost a pound and it devasted her. I have'nt been killing myself like her, but I do get how she feels, when you've been good and it's only a pound. But it is a pound DOWN and not a pound UP. Where is my fairy weight loss godmother with her magic wand? I'm not unreasonable, took me years to put this weight on, I only want it gone now with no effort on my part!:D

 

I've added "some" exercise to my life, I am now taking the stairs at work and am banned from the elevator. There is 39 of them and I have to go up and down them several times a shift. Made my legs feel like jelly when I began, it'll get better. If I can't find time to exercise, I'm going to make what I do in my life exercise!!

No loss for me this week...so disappointed because I did good with WOE and WOEx all week....I do have some swelling in my ankles, but that's not unusual for me after working the weekend....I hope to have another good week this week....and maybe the scales will show it next Monday....I really feel good since I've been going to the gym so I'm gonna hang in there....one day at a time.....Right ?????

Hey There!

I so didn't want to have to post this morning - but this Thread keeps me sooo True to Myself on what that dreadful scale is telling me! To much fun last weekend with my family in for the Balloon Fiesta - and more to come this weekend..aaargh! But - I'm going to post anyway - because I need to ! Those 3 lbs that I played tag with all of Sept - they finally were gone on Oct 1 - Well, they are back!! Aaargh!! :mad: My Mom's got to quit making desserts with those Apples! ;)

Well, here's my first weigh in! Down a pound. Nothing huge, but every little bit helps, eh? Unfortunately, I'm sick with a horrible cough, so I haven't gone to my classes at the gym this week. :( I'm thinking I'll still go over lunch with DH today and do some elliptical...just not work so hard that I throw myself into a coughing fit. LOL

Hello All,

 

I've returned from my fun but too short cruise and now it is time to get back to the dieting & exercise. I decided not to do a weighin until next Friday since there is little doubt that I gained some last week. :p
