The TA enters it (ETA: it being the credit card info in this case; sorry for the lack of clarity) directly into the NCL booking system, so there is no difference.

This will be my first experience with this program.  If I am on an NCL cruise on the 7th, merely making a purchase using my onboard cruise card won't qualify, because the charge won't actually hit my BoA credit card until the end of the cruise.  If I go to the desk and tell them to actually charge my card that day for the gratuities or any other on board purchases I've made, that should do it?   Or am I overthinking?   Anyone have any experience with this?  Thanks!

They won't randomly issue the permanent charge to your card because you ask them to.

We were on a cruise earlier this year (different cruise line, however) and we asked for the charges to be put thru earlier than the last day of the cruise and they did it - but you're absolutely right that there's no guarantee that NCL will do it.

The BoA website lists a number of cards for which bonus points will be available for purchases booked on 7 November.  This includes the NCL card as well as the one for Celebrity.  We plan to make our final payment for an upcoming Celebrity cruise on that date, even though that will be several weeks prior to the final payment due date.  We will use our BoA Celebrity card for that purchase.  We also are looking at several possible upcoming NCL cruises.  If we find one or more which appeal to us, we'll go ahead and make final payment of them on 7 November, as well, to try to maximize our World Points.

We have 6 NCL cards, yeh I know but with our business we had one for each department and after we sold the business we just kept them as there was no annual fee.  This allows us to really take advantage of bonus day!

I just wanted to post I made my first purchase 9/21 and got my 30k points statement credit on 10/18.
