Christmas River Cruise

Has anyone done one of the Christmas River Cruises with GCT. What are your recommendations. Any weather problems. Considering going as a single. Would there be other singles. How much walking. Any information would be appreciated.

We traveled on the Christmas Markets down the Danube from Nurnberg, Germany to Vienna, Austria from December 12 - December 20, 2003 with GCT. It was on the River Melody, but I do not believe that ship is doing that trip this year. It was wonderful. We were blessed with great weather. Of course, that is never guaranteed. The food was quite good. There were several singe persons on the ship. Some were traveling together, but others were traveling alone. It is a small ship and everyone was very friendly on our trip. We had a room on the lower level, and it turned out to be fine as we would not have used a balcony at that time of the year and we spent a lot of our time in the lounge as you can view the scenery on both sides of the river. It is quite a savings. There is a fair amount of walking, but it is at an easy pace; however, some of it is on cobblestones. I would love to be going again this year.
