Smyley Posted July 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2007 We are taking the med cruise Jul 28th. Can anyone give me an update how the process went at the airport in Barcelona? Baggage claim, immigration, locating Disney reps and shuttle? We are staying at the Grand Marina the night before the cruise. Any opinions? Tips or suggestions...............thanks
frosty52 Posted July 20, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2007 I was on the first Med cruise and the Barcelona airport went very smoothly. Baggage claim/immigration was much like any other international flight. DCL had reps waiting just outside baggage claim waiting for you with their signs and drivers and clipboards to check you in and take you to the hotel. You are assigned a driver/vehicle by hotel. We were driven to the hotel and had an English speaking DCL rep (local woman) accompany us. It was very easy. We tipped the driver because he handled all the luggage but not the woman with the clip board as all she did was check us off the list and talk to the driver while we sat in traffic. The driver did look surprised by the tip (and no it wasn't because we were cheap). It was very easy. These are international hotels so English is spoken by the staff. RSnow Posted July 20, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2007 We went on the first Med. cruise and stayed at the Grand Marina. The arrival process was smooth, and we were met by a drive who took us to the hotel. There were Disney representatives at the Grand Marina, so we were able to pick up our stateroom keys at the hotel before we left for the ship. The open air tourist busses stop is literally in front of the hotel, so it is a very convenient place to tour Barcelona from.
